Ok, wife and I are going to Nola Saturday for our anniversary. We have dinner reservations at Brigtsen's, but wanted to grab some bbq and head over to WWII Museum during the day. Skimmed some recent threads, and it seems like Central City BBQ has gone down the shitter. I've never been to Blue Oak. What y'all got?

I've been to both. Both are good. I would prob recommend Blue Oak, though. Their menu seems to have a little more thought put into it than Central City.

One thing to note: the time I went to Central City, it was a late lunch, so they were out of their signature dish "Brisket tips", or something like that.

Central City BBQ is a good bit closer to the WWII museum, but I would go a little further out to Blue Oak.

We went to Frey's last weekend and it was delicious. The ribs and brisket were top notch. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich and she enjoyed it. Plus they have these for dessert.

+1 and an upvote. May not be as good as BOB but it's damn good and the space is a bit more comfortable to hang out and eat.

It's New Orleans so everything is near each other despite what people say. Go to Blue Oak BBQ and stuff your face then cry at the WWII Museum.

If you have a pair of elastic waistband shorts you could hit up Blue Oak and Frey as they are close to each other. Both are putting out good BBQ and both have good tap selections with the nod going to Blue Oak.
