NFL players voted former Alabama star Julio Jones as the league’s third-best player heading into the 2017 season.

The NFL Top 100 was unveiled on Monday night on NFL Network and the Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowler was the top wide receiver on the list, edging out Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who was fourth overall.

Jones was eighth on the list overall last season. Jones and the Falcons lost in the Super Bowl 34-28 in overtime to the New England Patriots.

Jones, 28, had 83 catches for 1,409 yards and 6 touchdowns last season, missing two games with injuries. He had a career-high 136 catches and 1,871 yards in 2015 to lead the NFL in both categories.

The only two players ahead of Jones on the list were Von Miller of the Denver Broncos, who was second, and Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, who was first.

Imagine how much more insane his career stats would be if he never missed any games.

Can't be, I've read a billion times on the rant that odell-beckham Jr is the best receiver

His low TD numbers are strange to me. And it's not just a one year thing. I know his presence in the red zone opens things up for others but for the amount of receptions and yards he puts up and how big and physical he is, you would think one of these years his TDs would more closely align with his other production.

And to think my wormy arse, sawed off nephew once held him to four catches in a game.

Julio is the truf.

I could tolerate the low td numbers when they had Gonzales at te, but now it is a head scratcher for sure. It is pretty sweet he's as likely to score from the opponent's red zone

You think Atlanta may have been better off choosing OJ Howard?

Shame that he was so banged up for his sophomore year.

Their weapons are INSANE. There's almost no need to throw him the ball close to the redzone as there are MULTIPLE guys who are FANTASTIC at scoring down there. Their RBs alone are insanely dynamic. Then the other WR options get favorable matchups.

No need to force him the ball down there.
