Arkansas's RPI is currently at 13. If Arkansas were to knock off Florida today, and beat LSU in the SECCG tomorrow would their RPI jump enough to be the #8 National Seed? They'd be at 43-16 and be the SEC Tournament Champions with probably an RPI in the 5-10 range I'd think.

I know this is a long shot. I don't see Murphy beating Singer today. Just thought it was an interesting idea for the SEC.

This isn't me saying they should get a National Seed. Just friendly discussion about the possibility.

They'd have to talk the committee members out of giving Stanford that last spot.

I think the problem you run into is whether they'll give the SEC three National Seeds...I just don't think that will happen.

Fixed the wording for you. I'm just saying if the two were to happen would they have a chance. I don't see them beating Florida.

Kentucky was looking at a National Seed if they went deep in the SECT. I feel like they make a strong case for it.

There's a slimmer chance of them beating Florida and then LSU than getting the 8th nation seed.

No, to put is simply.

SEC will only get two national seeds. Stanford will be awarded that last national seed. My opinion was Kentucky was done prior to the SEC Tourney unless they won the whole thing, but even then it depended on what Stanford did in its final weekend of Pac play. So far, Stanford has won two games and going for the sweep today against Wazzu. With a sweep Stanford will finish 40-14, 21-9 with a top 10 RPI.

Arkansas also has a great venue to host, but I feel like giving Texas Tech, TCU, and LSU are all too close to give another National Seed to that region.

I think if they win out they make a strong case for it though.

Stanford at 40-14 with a Top 10 RPI
Arkansas at 43-16 with a Top 10 RPI

Arkansas knocking off two national seeds the final weekend. I think it's possible, but a long shot.

Like I said in a post above, I think it comes down to region. They'd rather give another west coast team a national seed than another mid america team.

Great insight and discussion posting "0" in as many ways as you can. Keep working that post count.

Like I said, this is just a discussion. This is a sports board after all.

Doubtful, like 0.057% chance doubtful.

A) Even though that's a helluva run by Arky, still have to "push other teams" out of the way. Several of them. Doing good is only have the battle; it's a comparison game.

B) They love them some conference record. Again, other teams would have to go back in time and ruin their conf record to be less appealing. That's in the books.

ETA: for example, if LSU was to end up facing UF in the SEC tourney finals and win, they still would probably be behind UF in seeding due to UF's 21 conf wins.

I get what you're saying, but this makes absolutely no sense. LSU has 21 conference wins also. RPI is what really separates those teams.

As far as Arky and a national seed, I doubt it, but I think that they are least in the conversation with another win. They may even get paired with Stanford instead of Kentucky. I know that there's no real seeding after 8, but I think that the committee will pair the first team outside of the top 8 with them.
