I still can't believe that Texas-USC game was that long ago because I remember it so vividly. But then I remember I was a sophomore in high school

True. If a recruit's parents had them at 17.
I would venture to say this is about 1/3 of the recruits........

Honestly I'd say Auburn's Cam title is getting kind of hazy now too.

I think we'll still get some mileage out of 2010 as long as Cam is a prominent figure in the NFL

Honestly at this point its nothing more than a smoke and mirror show. Noone gives a shite what anyone has done besides whats happening right now. Recruits probably think clemson is a vastly superior program to notre dame, michigam, tennessee, nebraska and texas. But they have had a great last few years and they have a water slide/miniature golf course in their new 100 million dollar facility that will be outdone in 2 years by someone else. Its just the world we live in now.

I guess it gives some parity to college football. It makes it all on who your coaches and donors are than anything. Clemson just built that new facility and mark my words someone will build a new, bigger more over the top one in the next year. Texas may have just done it now that i think abiut it but i didnt really look into it all that much. I work with some a&m guys and i heard them crying about it. Either way, woth the way its going by 2030 these kids are going to be downgrading workout facilities significantly when they get to the nfl.

And they keep replaying Kick Six.

We have been fortunate, for all the chaos and dysfunction surrounding our program in the last several years, there are a couple of memorable high points that have at least kept us visible to recruits.

Ask any highschool football player if they remember any significant on-field moments for Tennessee, Michigan, Miami, Nebraska or Penn State.

I remember hearing once that every minute, somewhere in the world, a tv station is airing Gilligan's Island. I think every minute some boog in the world is watching the kick six.

New money will always whip the shite out of old money. You have to keep it fresh or you will die on the vine.

When Auburn got robbed in 2004, cfb kicked up a hornet's nest. Soon after, the SEC goes on an unprecedented run and the rest is history.

Do college recruits even remember your team's last national title?

^^This is why as a coach you focus on recruiting to the Boss of the household. Momma, daddy, grandma, auntie, legal guardian. They know shite, they remember shite.

These teenagers (I have one) can't even sit through an entire sporting even on TV and focus on the players, schemes, coaching staff, live action ball games without looking at their damn cellphones every 30 seconds.

My wife nearly pinched my son's head off this week. He had the nerve to bring his phone to the table and sent a damn Instagram pic of his dinner plate. WTF? Who cares what your momma cooked for dinner?

I was 18 years old when USC and Texas battled it out in that Rose Bowl. Hard to believe these kids coming up were only 4-5 years old at the time.

And I wasn't even alive the last time Georgia won a national championship. My parents hadn't even met yet.
