Going to be in Chattanooga this weekend for a charity golf tournament. Going to be there from Sat-Tues. Figured this would be a good place to ask some questions about the place.
Plan to play the day before the actual tournament. What are some good courses that a small group could play?
What are some good restaurants and maybe bars to check out afterwords?
Any additional information that you think I should know about the place? Thanks

I like Bear Trace a lot, I can't remember if they are chill with walk-ins though. If you want a great place to go eat, go to Champy's. That place makes chicken like you wouldn't believe. Champy's website

Ya, I get that some are going to be more difficult the day of but not expecting anything fancy. We will be playing the actual event at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. From doing some research it has some significant history that is pretty cool.

Where to start? OH...DOWNTOWN
On the North Shore (across the river from the aquarium) there are several bars and restaurants.
Mike's Hole In The Wall has good "bar foods". The Big Chill and Full Moon have good bar fare. Embargo 62 for some great Cuban food. There is Beast and Barrel and a couple of sushi joints.
Now, back across the river start at the aquarium just walk down Market or Broad St. Tons of restaurants and bars. Too many to name. They run the gamut from beer joints with burgers to the white table cloth places.
Take a short drive down Broad St to St Elmo and there is one of my personal favorites the 1885 Grill. It is directly across the street from the Incline Railway. Try the fried okra and pimento cheese appetizer.
Nearly all the downtown places have a complete bar compliment and a few have their own micro-breweries.

You are going to be really close to Tremont Tavern, one of the best burgers in town, and the Daily Ration which has some good fare.

I'd try Moccasin Bend Golf Club, it's about a 5-10 minute drive from downtown. Course is usually in pretty good shape. It's a really fun course to play. I envy you for getting to play Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. I've always wanted to play there. It's a gorgeous course

That is what I have heard as well. Might not be true but also heard that Peyton had or has a house right behind one of the tee boxes. Could just be a lie though.
Thanks for the info
