I know it may not seem impressive or like much to y'all, but to be the only school in the entire nation that can lay claim to this in the past year speaks volumes about how far our program has come from those days spent wandering alone as an Independent.

Thank you! It just really puts an exclamation mark behind what being in tSEC has done for us as a program. Amazing progress from where and who we once were.

I'll give an upvote to that.

ETA: If our baseball team was worth a hoot last year we'd join you on that list.

A solid year for gamecock athletics for sure. Our athletic department probably had it's worst year in the last full year.

We'd be on there, too, if not for one of our teams. I'll give you one guess which one screwed it up for us.

Just as long as they don't try to claim our "Best Average Ranking Among the Big Three Sports" title. We've already printed the T-shirts and ordered the banners for Tiger Stadium, Alex Box and the PMAC, so it's too late to change it now.

Impressive accomplishment by the South Carolina teams. In 1986, LSU played in a major New Year's Bowl (Sugar), the men's Final Four and the College World Series; plus our women's basketball team lost by 2 points to Tennessee in the Elite Eight, just missing the women's Final Four.

The 1986 Sugar Bowl was Tennessee beating Miami 35-7.

It wasn't a banner idiot. It was small signage at the front of the venue that likely replaced a pic of Dawn or one of the players.

'86 season LSU won the SEC. Sugar Bowl was actually played on 1/1/87, but it was still the '86 season.

So a banner then.

That's not what you said though.
