Here is the truth about the refs last night. They were big 12 refs, they called the game like big 12 refs do. They don't call offensive PI, they don't call holding and they give the benefit of the doubt to the reciever if they can on defensive PI. It just sucks for us that we didn't have the kind offense that benefits from that style of officiating. It's dumb to say officiating does not have an effect on the game, but it's just one of many factors of why we lost. Lack of passing threat, Injury to key players, other team making crucial/big plays and out executing, lack of adjustments, etc... Too much went wrong for us against a team that we couldn't just out talent. You gotta give Clemson credit for realizing how the game was gonna be called and taking full advantage.

I think there is a little Bama fatigue in there. Officiating is what it is, and it certainly didn't cost Bama the game last night. BUT, I will humor you on a few calls outside of the pick plays that had me like "What?".

A spot by an official when even Kirk and Fowler laughed because the official came up right around the sticks, then took a step or two in Clemson's favor and gave them the first by a yard. Reminded me of this:

The personal foul on Payne. We got ONE look at that flag and it was when they recapped the drive and it was from behind. On the recap, it didn't look like anything significant, just some light shoving. But for all of the time that elapsed between plays, they could have found a replay and showed it.

A side note that bothered me was the talk of "Tony Brown coming in late" and Fosters clothesline on Watson, but the white linebacker who clearly went head first into Stewart was a "GREAT HIT". Again, I think Bama fatigue is a real thing!

The one on Payne should of been off setting penalties if anything.

I know the play on that 3rd down where they kept moving the ball closer and closer until it was a first down.

I will never understand with our defensive line, and being 2nd in the nation in sacs with how full holding calls we got all year. I think you could count them on 1 hand lol

The fact that we are dead last in penalties called on opponents infuriates me. No way is that a mere coicidence.

The refs called the game in the 2nd half like they had money on Clemson. Having said that, we could have won anyway but there were just too many dropped passes, missed tackles, poor passes, and absolutely dogshit coverages on kicks that cost us the game.

Gallman broke more tackles than anyone we played this year. Clemson doesn't win this game without all the missed tackles and over pursuit on kick coverage and screen passes.
