They weren't the only one. Name an award Zach was up for.
He was a finalist for the Butkus and semifinalist for Bednarik. I've heard that's a pretty elite group to be part of.

Thanks. I have not seen him mentioned much outside of this board.

If you need facts, the dude led the SEC in tackles by a ton, had twice as many tackles for loss as Reuben Foster and almost as many as Foster and Allen combined. He also had 2 forced fumbles and a fg block. But he played for Vanderbilt so.......

Too bad the Saints are going to go 7-9 or 8-8, get a mid round pick as usual, and miss out on any top ten guys. The team can't even suck right.

Are direct stat comparisons between a stud on a roster full of studs, and a stud on a Vandy roster all that useful?
On any given snap, Foster is racing Allen, Williams, and Anderson to the ball carrier. Only one can get a full TFL or sack. Who is whats-his-name racing against?
I wonder who NFL Scouts like more.

One guy can tackle
Bama D loaded, stats are spread around and the D is not on the field much
Much more impressive facts

Cunningham is a great player, but who the hell does he have on his own team that are fighting to get the TFL or sack the QB? How many guys are just as good and can out shine him on this own team?

Conversely, with only an adequate D line in front of him, Zach likely has had to fight off more second level blocks to get his stats than most LBs in this conference. The guy's a freak.

Not deserving. Williams deserves it. Allen too much of a problem off the field. Allegedly

Hahahahahaha I love how you can post allegedly on anything and make it seem like you're credible.

Bama fans are hilarious. Three of you just posted that Foster doesn't have the numbers because of opportunity because other guys were making plays.
You don't give awards to players based on what they would have done under different circumstances. That is one of the dumbest lines of reasoning for a performance award. Ralph Webb ran behind Bama's line he might have run for 2000 yards. But he fricking didn't.

I know Bama fans don't pay attention to anyone else but CBS has Foster at 11 and Cunningham at 16 right now. Must be a huge difference.
