I'm ok with Bateman as a backup in spot duty or even for a game against teams like MSU, Kentucky, Auburn, etc. But if Jalen was seriously injured, I'd be very scared.

If I'm a d1 coach at a top 10 school I'm not giving a scholarship to a kid that's going to leave if he's not a starter mid-season.

He's literally 1 play away from starting for the #1 team in the country, and decides his best career path is to go to a JuCo mid-season and find another school? Let's see how that works out for you.

Everybody wants to be Russel Wilson but they are usually Jeremiah Masoli.

It's not even about the coach giving the opportunity, because I think there's enough talent there that he'll have many options in terms of a spot on the roster. The issue is, will Barnett put himself in a position to have to REALLY battle for another job? That's why I see him at a smaller school.

Nice subtle jab. One of those is not like the other, and you'd get your arse beat.

In fairness to me, I'm talking about this year's Auburn team, rather than Auburn as a program generally.

Yeah because Bama usually relies on their QB to win their games. Oh wait...

I am too. This is the best Auburn defense in years. If you don't have all your offensive weapons ready, you're not going to have a very good day.
