Saban just announced Tony Brown and Johnny Dwight will both be eligible to play Saturday. The suspensions are over.

I think this was the best case scenario. We didn't lose a game because of it and we got to get Hootie some more time on the field.

Edit: Harrison, not Hootie.

Hopefully Brown has learned from his mistakes and makes the best of the rest of the season.

I certainly would like to see him replace Ronnie Harrison out there. His effort is fricking terrible out there.

Harrison is confusing. He'll make tackles on the sideline at the LOS and fly around the field...then 5 minutes later he's playing like a knucklehead.

Being eligible to play doesn't mean you will play.

Harrison is just not good at all in coverage. Not sure if it's physical limitations or discipline or both, but I'd think Tony would be a major upgrade in terms of coverage. Probably not as good near the LOS.

Tony Brown has changed his number from #7 to #2.

Jared Mayden has changed his from #2 to #8.

Harrison will still be starting most likely.

Agreed. No chance Tony returns and is immediately starting. May not even see him on defense for at least a couple games except in a blowout scenario. I think he jumps right in on special teams though.

Inconsistency, he's just a Sophomore. Not all of them are Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Tru dat, and also Ronnie is playing two distinctly different positions as far as money in the Dime and Safety in all other formations.

Tony will play at dime almost immediately and I think he will overtake SS eventually.

Tony brown is about to go off. I watched him at the Kent state game. He was fired up jumping around with everyone.

"The last time Tony Brown stepped on the field was last year's SEC Championship win over Florida. The junior defensive back, who was suspended prior to the Cotton Bowl against Michigan State, is finally eligible to play again.

Tide teammates are expecting Brown to bring a lot of energy.

"He brings so much energy to this team on and off the field," Jonathan Allen says. "As a team we're just happy and excited for him to come back and excited to see what he does this week."

"If you could just see how he practices. It doesn't matter how hot it is, he's just an animal out there," Allen says. "We're just ready to have him bring that to our team this week."

"Tony's about to be like a caged animal," says Reuben Foster. "That's all he could talk about is getting back on the field and playing with us. Tony brings fire to the whole team (with) killer shots. Gets our adrenaline going."

Foster says that Brown has been "lit" at practices.

"When people are down, he gets us up and going," Foster says. "Like another Coach Cochran.""

Good to hear, but I'll believe when I see it. I've heard so much about how great Tony is since he was being recruited, but all he's been is a headache. Even when he did see the field a fair amount as a freshman, he was disappointing.

He is (arguably) the most physically gifted DB on the roster. His closing speed is the best on the team. I don't know if he can flip his hips like Marlon Humphrey, but dude is so effing fast when he is reacting to something. I hope he can keep his nose clean because he is an NFL athlete all effing day long.
