Butch Jones will not become a good coach if VOLS win tomorrow

Hopefully fellow VOLS remember that. Any competent coach would be 2-1 against Florida (he has blown 2 score 4th quarter leads in back to back Florida games) going in to this game.
Assuming he wins tomorrow as a home favorite against a worse team on paper he should not be celebrated. He will have just avoided fricking up 3 years in a row.
VOLS should roll tomorrow and go about their business. A loss and people will rightfully criticize him, but hopefully he is not celebrated after a win.

Yeah 10 in a row would totally suck. 11 would be even worse.

Favored in all 10. He has done a good job of building up the roster but let'a not act like he has beaten anyone with a pulse. He has done what he was supposed to the last 9 weeks, tomorrow would be more of the same.

UF had bad luck with their qb getting injured before this game, same as Chubb getting injured last yr for UGA.

VOLS were 10 point favorites last week before any games were played (pre Sutton and Del Rio injuries)
Let's not pretend Florida losing an Oregon State reject and replacing him with a Purdue reject is some kind of game changer.

Unfortunately, a side effect of us winning would be that Butch will likely get far more credit (and leeway for his failures) than he deserves. He isn't a very good coach. But at this point I'm fed up enough with this fricking streak that I'll gladly take it.

Don't mind him. He's a fricking idiot

And despite what some of the delusional UF fans (hey TJ and Josh) will tell you, UT is the better overall team. Definitely doesn't mean we'll win (in fact I've been on record predicting a loss all week) but we're slightly more talented, much more experienced and playing at home.

How has Butch proven not to be a good coach? Tennessee's record has improved every year he's been there.

Very poor in game coach.
The last two Florida games, the Oklahoma game last year, Arkansas last year, Mizzou 2 years ago. All really poorly managed. First year he gets a pass for (and points for the S. Carolina win).
The OU, UF, Arkansas stretch last year was coaching malpractice.
I thought they played well and were coached well last year from the second half of the UGA game on (including the loss to Bama), but he hasn't beaten a team more talented than his team since S. Carolina in year 1 imo.

Mainly because he's recruited well and upgraded our talent. He's a great CEO type coach, but lacking when it comes to X's and O's, particularly in game. To be fair, he was just what we needed when we hired him, but I doubt we'll be anywhere near consistent top 10 if we don't make a change at some point.
What worries me is if we frick this year up (and a lot of that depends on this game) that top recruits will stop buying what he's selling and see UT as a program that's peaked out at 8 or 9 wins under his regime. Then the one thing that has been his bread and butter suffers, and we end up even worse.
