Yes, it is often said, but so true.

ISU Fans just smell like corn dogs.

I would never tell them that to their face though. This is something better said at internet distances. Even now, I am afraid. I am afraid that they'll know I said it. I'll ride past one of them on the road someday, and they'll see that look in my eye that gives it away. The furrowed brow that says, "Gee, what is that smell? Is it corn dogs?" The next thing you know, my vehicle will be missing its Hawkeye plate brackets and my cat will be swinging by a noose from my ceiling fan… with a Troy Davis jersey on. Vandals!!

It actually goes back to 2003-2004 - just in the SEC, before that in Iowa, or wherever.

Not trying to be snarky, but I'd love to see proof of that.

I don't have proof, but I first read it on a UGA board just before we played them in the 2003 SECCG. The Dawg Run, or some shite? I think it was the board that had green/grass borders on the sides. Anyway, UGA got blown out by LSU which shut them up pretty good. The next season, 2004, I was on a football board which will remain nameless and saw an Auburn fan post them same shite before their game with LSU. Unfortunately LSU lost the game to Auburn, and so it stuck.

That's how I remember seeing it come to be associated with LSU.

And hey, Stadium Rat, I lived in North Stadium for the fall of '83. So, cheers.
