From Matter's Mizzou Chat

"Ricker wanted to trade out the veterans who weren't performing and play the younger dudes, Pendleton and Adams. He was overruled. He's an easy scapegoat among fans, but the linemen loved playing for him. And he was not committed to playing seniors who weren't performing. (I'm not talking about Boehm and McGovern, but the others.) I like the upside of the new starters. Adams and Howell at tackle, especially. I just haven't seen enough live action to really have an informed opinion. Howard gets to watch the parts of practice that regular media folk don't get to see."

So just Henson, or Henson and Pinkel?
I believe most MU fans, like myself, just assumed Ricker and Henson both were to blame for that ridiculous stubborness that decimated the line play.

I really hope Howell and Adams are up to the task. Sounds like Howell has the size and looks the part. We'll see if he has the speed and football smarts to man the left edge.

I had heard that going all the way back to last year. It was one of the 2 reasons I kept defending him, seemed I was alone in that. The other was that he seems to be a solid recruiter.

Thanks for this post. Being a former player, I had hoped Ricker would do a great job. I wonder wirh this being the case why Odom didnt give him a shot.

Gotta think after all the mess last year on and off the field, the urge to start with a clean slate in as many areas as possible was very strong.
