Makes sense. Stay in a hotel in Tuscaloosa or stay in a hotel in Columbus. 6 in one. I know Bama stays in Montgomery before playing au.

There is a Ramada in Columbus that is ideal for visiting football teams to MSU. Its small enough that the team and official staff pretty much take over the hotel, and it has large enough ballrooms to conduct separate walkthroughs for offense/defense, etc.

I suspect it's curfew like situation so that they know where their kiddos are at night.

I think all teams do this for home games? Hotel options are limited in Starkville so Columbus makes the most sense....cheaper rate for the athletic department and the local hotels still get to cash in tripling their rates for game weekends. I still think we should have athletic dorms, but that's another discussion.

and I think Ole Miss stays in Tupelo.

Its not uncommon for the small town teams to get out of town the night before a game. Easier to stay out of trouble when you are away from a small college town on a Friday night.

Didn't au let the players stay in their dorms/apts for a long time? Like up till recently? I could be imagining this

Bama stays in the Capstone Inn right off campus for home games.
