Would y'all be ok if Gus brought Art briles on board in some capacity to help him get back into coaching? I know he and Gus are buddies and that he played some role in getting Kam Martin to sign with AU over TCU. Food for thought....
Personally I wouldn't mind it. Then again maybe the backlash would be to much. What say you?

no thanks.

ETA the negative recruiting would be off the charts.

Not no, but hell no. I want nothing to do with Briles.

Nobody is touching Briles for a while.

But no - I would not be okay with it. What their football program is accused of is the sort of thing that rots a program from the inside out. We don't need that

The fact that someone would be interested in bringing in a guy who brought in transfers with pending sexual assualt issues then covered up for them while at Baylor is beyond me. That isn't "caught paying players" or "Caught BBQing with some recruits"

There are some things that are way more important than Auburn Football/Sports.

If the details are released, and he followed protocol, I wouldn't care. I have no knowledge on the situation. Just because someone is accused, doesn't mean they are guilty. I am not sure why Baylor would pay him 20 MM if he was guilty of something.

We need to keep laying low from controversy.

Bruce Pearl was a reasonable hire within a certain tolerance. Unfortunately, Briles was involved with something a little (lot) more damning.

I'm sure Coach Briles is doing some soul searching right now, probably just wants to spend time with his loved ones..

But with the season coming up, you know he would love to have some kind of input, even causally. I could see Gus calling him and asking his opinion on certain things. It's been well documented they've worked together.

What he allowed and covered up is not OK.

If Gus is the offensive guru he's supposed to be, he doesn't need to hire a POS like Briles. As a dad of a little girl, frick that dude.

briles has worked with plenty of other coaches. saban even had him in for a coaches convention a couple years ago.

i'm not sure why the hell that matters.

It is well documented that Bill Belichick worked with Aaron Hernandez but I doubt he'd do it again in the future
