I wish Atlanta didn't have 4 QB's on their roster at the moment. Kind of bad timing for this to happen to him.

Dylan ended up with the Rams. I'm sure Connor will get a look somewhere for camp as well. The Browns made a poor decision to get RGIII and that's going to haunt that franchise as much as anything could haunt that awful franchise.

Obviously this team doesn't want an incredible kid like Shaw competing with rejects like RG3. They prolly got rid of him so the fans wouldn't get upset that the dim witted coaching staff won't bench RG3 and play Shaw instead.

that's tough news for any player under contract with 31 of the 32 NFL organizations. fortunately for Connor he wasn't on any of those 31.

Green Bay, Tennessee, Oakland...all possible places Shaw could get a look based on their current depth charts/backup "talent". he'll end up in a few camps if his agent is worth his salt.

Apparently he was going to be picked up by the Saints but the Bears were 1 spot ahead. Undoubtedly would've impressed so much in camp that Brees would be cut and Shaw the new franchise QB. Then your Falcons would have to see Shaw at least twice a year for the next 15 years.

But alas, that's not what happened and he'll be behind Cutler for a while.

Was coming here to post that. That's funny. That's why you never release what you're going to do before you actually do it in the NFL.

The Saints let it leak that they were going to pick him up off waivers and then the Bears jumped them on it.

Now this is funny.

https://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2016/07/connor_shaw_chicago_bears_new.html

quote:

The Chicago Bears have landed quarterback Connor Shaw off waivers after the New Orleans Saints also put in a claim, ESPN reported Friday.

ESPN originally reported that the Saints had landed Shaw one day after the Cleveland Browns placed him on waivers.

But another ESPN report said the Saints mistakenly sent an email to the other 31 teams in the league instead of only to the league office to put in their claim.

Whether that factored in the Bears' acquisition of Shaw before the 3 p.m. CT waiver claiming deadline was not known.

The Bears hold priority over the Saints in the waiver claiming order, and therefore would have landed Shaw with a claim regardless if they knew of the Saints' desire to get the South Carolina product.

They basically hit REPLY ALL instead of REPLY. The Seahawks also sent in a reply to pick up Shaw, but they were even farther down the waiver list than the Saints or Bears. Has to feel good for Shaw knowing that 3 teams were wanting him on waivers.
