Did everything right except win the big one as basketball coach. Great coach, and an even better man. Norm made us a basketball school. Heck, even helped win our baseball national title as a dual sport athlete.

We are truly blessed to have had a man like that as our head basketball coach.

That is what Mizzou basketball used to be. It mattered. It whas an event. Nationally relevant yearly and the Hearnes center packed regularly.

Norm was Mr Mizzou and a true Missourian through and through.

Now we suck

Absolutely. I enjoyed watching Mizzou back then. Those mu/ku games were talent rich.couldn't tell u how many times I thought Missouri would win it all. Great coach and a great show about one of college basketballs greats.

Thank god for Norm. We wouldn't have had much without him in the late 80s and 90s when the football program was in the toilet.

A tale of better times for Mizzou basketball. It's been a roller coaster ever since his retirement and now that roller coaster has flown off the tracks. It's a shame really.

Funny watching that show and seeing teams that were there when I was in school. Playing on the golf team at Mizzou, I saw those coaches (including Coach Stewart) a lot.

In the fall of 1990, Coach Rich Daly "gave" me a pair of ostrich skin Reeboks that the team wore. He asked me what size shoe I wore and I told him I wore a 12. He said that he happened to have a pair that size but he couldn't "give" them to me. Coach then asked if I had a dollar. Gave it to him and he promptly handed it back and said go buy us a coke.

Wish I still had them, they were

One of Dale's best teams, 1979-1980, needed the entire game to put away Missouri in the 1980 MW Regional semifinal.

I didn't know much about Norm outside of his 1990's teams. It's impressive that he was the head coach for 32 years and retired on his own terms.
