Back when both Cedar Shoals and Clarke Central were producing big time recruits (not so much these days)
it definitely wasn't a slam dunk signing those kids.
USCe,Bama,Clemson and even PSU use to pull kids out of there.

At least if football doesn't work out, he can get a job as one of Big Freedia's backup dancers.

Especially from that school.Antwan Green,Brandon Jackson
and even Marcus McNeil were all big time lineman from that school that either went to Auburn or Bama.

We've never had much luck there and Cedar Grove produces big time talent year in and out.

I'd definitely say it does. More GA recruits staying home means less of them going to bama/au, plus us playing AU every year gives them (potentially) another SEC loss which is to LSU's advantage.

Just fresh and new right now. Smart better win quickly because I don't think he will get much of a grace period.

Richt got 15 years, how short is this leash you speak of?

Winning is directly correlated to recruiting in most cases. If he recruits well, his teams will win. Even Butch Jones will win if he keeps recruiting at a high level and we know his game day coaching has been lackluster at times.

Define quickly? In year 1 with shallow depth on the LOS both ways, I'd hardly say there's any kind of "clock" on him. Definitely not within the program itself. He'd have to have a trainwreck of a season to even have a candle lit under his chair. As far as with recruits, I'd disagree as well, with one caveat. The team has to be competitive. Blowout losses (see: Bama 08/15) leave a lasting negative impression. But if the team is competitive in every game, W/L total in 2016 shouldn't really have much impact even with recruits. If anything, it should make them feel better about coming in and competing for a position.

From a strictly job related standpoint, I'd say Kirby will easily have a 3 year grace period to try and show that he is the right hire. That's not to say that if he doesn't win something of note in year 3 that he's out, simply that the "heat" wouldn't likely even be turned on until that time. There have been quite a few blogs/podcasts covering this lately, but most of the current "elite" coaches were able to make their "big move" by year 3 (Saban, Meyer, Jimbo, etc.) upon joining a program. By and large 2 strong recruiting classes and their coaching ability should be sufficient to have a team that is reflective of what they bring to the table.

I agree with the 3 year mark. I guess what I am saying is the high standards that are at schools like LSU, Bama, Georgia, Auburn, Florida the grace period for winning is pretty short. So yeah, 2 to 3 years would be just about it.

There is literally no way kirby will be not be here 4 years from now unless he is somehow offered an NFL head coaching job (not happening) or something unthinkable like he dies or something.

You base this off of what? The guy has never had a head coaching job at a major football program like Georgia. How many coaches has Florida been through? Auburn? You can't say this because no one knows.

So lets say he goes 9-4 and 10-3 or even 9-4 again, how does it look going into his 3rd year? This is only my opinion, he is on the hot seat his 3rd year.

shite Richt went 12-2, 8-5, 10-3 and 10-3 and got canned. Same thing almost happened to Les.

logic and common sense.

We gave the last guy 15 years, of which the last 10 we didn't win the SEC. And you don't think we'll give the next guy 4? Say what you want about our AD but they're patient if anything.

I'd say he'd be unbelievably safe. Also this is impossible to answer bc we dont' know all the facts. Who did we lose to? Did we at least look capable (ie, not blown out)? Have we won the east? Were we healthy? There's a lot of variables.

Also, we aren't going to put a coach on the hot seat for winning 9 games his first 2 seasons. What coach in the universe would come here if we fired him after year 3? Nobody would come bc they'd think "I have to win it all within 3 years or I'm fired". That isn't reality.

Also you compared us to UT/UF/AU...without mentioning that those teams had HORRIBLE seasons.

UT: 6-7, 5-7, 5-7. No hope for the future

AU: 8-5, 3-9. No hope considering their OC/QB won the 10 title, not gene

UF: Put together 1 good season between a 7-6, 4-8, and 7-5.

Those 3 schools had disastrous seaosns that UGA almost assuredly won't have.

Depends on the losses.
Did we get embarrassed? did we get blown out? where they close?
