I love watching this show.
Wonder how much of it is scripted.
Who else has gone alligator fishing?
Would like to go once

100%. I like the show, but assume it is ending because it's played out, and I would assume ratings have dropped.
They make it sound like every alligator killed is a prehistoric beast, and that they are shooting them while thrashing. That is the most annoying part for me.

BOOM.

Scripted - ha, they use the same script in every show. "It's a big one..." over and over.

And the big tough alligators only need a little .22 shot...what a joke.

I liked it for a few months, then enough.

Yeah. They call it a 600 pound beat when it's thrashing, and then Liz pulls it into the boat by herself.
I don't get why they have to be so over the top with the commentary.

Pretty sure a .22 cap right in your brain will end it for ya. gator or not. Especially if hollow point.

You can kill with a .22 easily.... especially if you place the bullet in the right place...

The worst place to get hit with a .22 on a human is the head... because it can ricochet several times inside the skull....

Don't downplay a .22 caliber.... it might be a small caliber... but it can kill for sure.... plus at one time it was really cheap...

Never went actual alligator hunting, but my cousins and I used to go ride in the boat at nights during the summer and spotlight them. We'd catch like 3 or 4 small ones (2-3 feet). Had to let them go once we got home because its illegal

Almost caught one when I was frog hunting one night. In the spotlight, you can tell it's an alligator and not a frog because the eyes glow red instead of whitish green. Oh, and because the alligator is like 100 times bigger. That's also a tip off.

It's heavily scripted. Outside of the actual kill, I'm pretty sure that most of the filming is done outside of hunting season. Shots are also reused from other episodes and seasons. There's a reason they all use the same clothes every episode.

Also, have you ever wondered how they can get shots of the boat approaching a bait line with the cameraman shooting from land already? Or how about shots like these?

Used to love it.

Seemwd there was always a marathon on on Sunday's.

Roommates and myself would be hungover AF and just watch swamp people all day.

It's a thousand times more exciting than the show portrays. While I've done my fair share of gator grapplin, froggin is much more fun IMO. Way more laid back and stress free.

This show is still on?

It was good for a while but it got repetitive. Haven't watched it in what feels like a decade
