Since there is no "accurate" recruiting class grades because the grades are giving out the week after national signing day I will do an "accurate" review of the 2012 Missouri recruiting class.

Next year it will be 2013

Please feel free to jump on and destroy.

Signees per PM 19

5 star recruit - 1 DGB
4 star recruit - 1 Boehm
3 star recruit - 16
2 star recruit - 1 Brantley

4 year starters - 1 Boehm
3 year starters - 0
2 year starters - 4. Culken, Hansboro, Scherer, Mauk

2 year starters can be contested. These are the 4 in my grade.

Significant playing time on the depth chart and rotation - 15 players

Record including SECCG and bowl games - 35-11

Bowl games record- 2-0

NYE day or after bowls- 2-0

SECCG- 2

SECG wins- 0

Top 5- 1 (2013)
Top 20- 1 (2014)

The numbers tell me this is a top 20 class. And anyone who would say top 10 I would not argue with. If we go undefeated in 2013 I would say top 5.

Humbly submitted by Outlaw Josey Wales.

You left Golden off, as he came in with that class.

They could be considered a top 20 class, no better than that. That teams freshman year was brutal from a schedule standpoint. They played 6 teams that finished in the top 25 (Vandy ended up being ranked) with 5 of those teams ranked in the top 10 (USCe, UF, Bama, A&M, and UGA).

Overall they were 3-12 vs teams that finished the season in the Top 25 from 2012-2015. They were 0-9 vs top 10 teams during that span as well. They were losing by an average of 19 pts. against top 25 competition and by an average of 22 pts against top 10 teams.

This class actually shows how Pinkel is great at taking advantage of the road in front of him. This is why I am so upset he was not able to translate winning seasons into better talent acquisition.

They did us proud but they were only mid tier in our conference.

You can't really count 2013 and 2014 records for this class as they were fr and soph.

I tried looking backwards from the 2013 team, arguably Pinkel's best team (they were only an Odom away from a natty)

including major contributors

QB: James Franklin (Sr.) 4 2010

RB: Henry Josey (Jr.), 3 2010

RB: Russell Hansbrough (So.) 3 2012

WR-X: Marcus Lucas (Sr.) 4 2010

WR-X: Dorial Green-Beckham (So.) 5 2012

WR-Z: L'Damian Washington (Sr.) 3 2009

WR-H: Bud Sasser (Jr.) 3 2010

WR-H: Jimmie Hunt (Jr.) 3 2010

TE: Sean Culkin (RSFr.) 3 2012

LT: Justin Britt (Sr.) 2 2010
LG: Max Copeland (Sr.) nr(walk on)

C: Evan Boehm (So.) 4 2012

RG: Connor McGovern (So.) 3 2011

RT: Mitch Morse (Jr.) 3 2010

DE: Michael Sam (Sr.) 2 2009

DT: Marvin Foster (Sr.) 2 2009

NG: Lucas Vincent (Jr.) 3 2010

DE: Kony Ealy (Jr.) 4 2010

SLB: Donovan Bonner (Sr.) 2 2012

MLB: Andrew Wilson (Sr.) 3 2009

WLB: Kentrell Brothers (So.) 3 2011

CB: E.J. Gaines (Sr.) 3 2010

CB: Randy Ponder (Sr.) 3 2009
FS: Braylon Webb (Jr.) 3 2010
SS: Matt White (Sr.) 2 2009

so you have

Total: 25
5: 1
4: 4
3: 14
2: 5
0: 1

this would have ranked us in the middle 20's
we started five 2 stars
one of the 2 stars was co sec defensive player of the year, another is in the NFL

another way to look at it is this team was mainly built off the 2010 recruiting class which is considered Missouri's best class of the Pinkel era

Missouri 2010
Total: 25
5: 0
4: 4
3: 21

rank 22

BTW the 2012 class was ranked 31. That was b4 DGB, Mauk, Copelin, Boozer, and Ka’Ra Stewart were dismissed.
