Im in CSTAT till Friday for some fire training at TEEX. I know school hasn't started back up yet but they got any spots that might be fun at some point this week ?

Used to work out at TEEX as a student worker.

I would go to northgate if you want to have some drinks. The chicken is good for pitchers and pool. Other good bars are the corner, cedar lane, rebels, logies, obannons and chimys.

If you're looking to eat I would go to Bryan. There are several good bbq joints there. Kruetz and fargos are great

Check out Christopher's World Grille or Cafe Eccel (my personal fave) for eats.

Of course Northgate is worth a gander if you're into the bar scene. The Chicken is the most noteworthy spot, but my favorite place is Antonio's Pizza (since Daisy Duke's shut down).

Grand Station isn't bad if you like bowling/laser tag/mini golf.

If you've never been, visit the Bonfire Memorial. Extremely well done.

I'm TEEX certified.

Northgate's fun if you want a college hangout.

Bryan has less chainy restaurants, but try and hit Knoppe Bridge for a burger. It's solid.

In my day, fire school guys all hung out at the dancehall where I worked. But it's long gone, so I would just go to Northgate. You can park and walk around to try out different kinds of bars. It's a smaller, more adult crowd during the holiday break, but you can probably find someone to shoot pool or play dominoes if you're by yourself. Might even find some mature women looking to make a new friend.

go to chicken oil for a good ole chicken fried steak and a shiner

college station has gotten very chainy so lots of panera breads and burrito shops

Bryan has a cool downtown. some good BBQ scattered around too.

Amicos is a cool place for some new american/italian grub

im old school, i still like going to wings n more for some wings and a pitcher.

i use to stay off Texas Ave for work and there was a really good sushi joint south of campus but i cant remember the name. UPDATE: its called 40 Tempera Sushi and Hibachi. Good stuff for a college town and of course not too $$

Fox and Hound is a laid back bar.
Burger House is good.
The Cafe Del Sol on Texas at MLK is great.
Mad Taco on Jane St, Torchys on Texas right next to Canes and Fuego back behind the UHAUL and Dennys for tacos.
Shannon's over on hwy 21 for lunch
Patranellas on Parker for good Scilian and it's a killer bakery as well.
