So the playoffs attempt to give the big 12 a charity invite worked out, right?

Despite having the same number of wins as ou Stanford got kicked to the curb.

Playing politics to kiss the big 12's arse when they clearly didn't have a playoff worthy team was plain wrong and I hope they don't ever make that mistake again.

Stanford would've done soooo much better against Clemson . McCaffrey and Watson would've been fun to watch

Stanford had two losses and lost to fricking Northwestern. How the hell did they deserve a bid?

Stanford had the same a out of wins as ou

Neither of stanfords losses were as embarrassing or pathetic as ou's

Stanfords 11 wins were against much better competition than ou's 11 wins

I hate how people wanted to give Ohio St (during middle of season) the edge over other teams b/c OHST won the NC last year. Well guess what? Last year's OHST team is different from this year. Same for all other teams in college. Every year is different so no team or conference should be given the benefit of the doubt based of last year's performance (SEC included).

I feel like that is why Mich St got in. I got a co worker who was said he was gonna be pissed if Mich St got left out of the playoffs....well I think he now rather wishes that they did get left out b/c then he could at least argue the "what if" game.

LSU lost to Kentucky and Arkansas and got one of not four, but two spots. Two loss teams can be better than one loss teams. Clearly, that was the case this year.

I wouldn't mind if they added two teams to the playoff field. Six teams would be the absolute perfect number IMO. There's been six teams with zero or one losses at the end of the regular season the last three years. You would give all the teams with one loss a shot or in this year's case, all of the conference champions + Ohio State. But Stanford had two losses and Ohio State blew it against Michigan State. In the current system, they just didn't do enough to get in.

And a one loss team is often a lot better than a no loss team. See 1-9-12

Number of wins should matter as much or even more when one of those wins is a conference championship game

Stanford won the same number of games as ou but their victories were better quality

And ou's loss was atrocious

damn if I don't agree with you. a first.

the big 12 is the worst of the 5 conferences and they don't have a championship game. they need to add two more losers and add that game.

plus; you know, big game Bob strikes again.

Not surprised that they did this. They only did because Oklahoma is a brand name. If it was TCU in the same situation, Stanford would've been in.

In an eight-team field, Stanford would have been in the playoff and would have made some major noise. Ohio State would be in, too.

It's a fricking travesty that the defending national champs, with only one loss, didn't get a chance to defend their title.
