It's a ~14% raise and he is now the 5th or 6th highest paid coach in the SEC. I think this is fair. UGA gave Jeremy Pruitt a 52% raise after 1 year and were paying him 1.2 or 1.3 million per year. Our total staff salary is still among the lower end of the conference and we are just getting better results.

I agree, pretty good move by Dave here. Now lets make a playoff run.

If I were to grade Butch for his three years so far, I would give him a B.

fricking retarded, but at least they didn't add years and, in turn, buyout cost.

meh, he is an average coach, so he was given a raise to reach the level of average coach salary. its a retention move.

Took over an absolute dumpster fire of a program. Progressively gotten better, from 5 wins to 7 and now likely 9 wins. Took over a team that was among the worst in the SEC talent wise, and now has a roster that is competitive with every other team bar Bama. Last season the only coaches he made more than were Mullen (who's more than likely going to be on $4.3m next year, aka Hugh's salary) and Pinkel (Mason excluded because Vandy, but safe to assume he's on less than Butch). I have no problem with him getting a raise.

This is the most important thing.

I am fine with a raise. The team has gotten a little better, so making his pay a little better is alright imo.

Yea I've been one of the most outspoken posters against this staff but I have no problem with this. Relatively small raise adding no years or increasing the buyout, fine with me

It's fair. We hit a FG against UF and we're in ATL

So we're validating raises based on what could've been? That's pretty stupid.

Compared to where we have been... It's a big improvement

We lost any game that was worth a damn. He's lucky to be coaching in the shittiest SEC East ever. And he still couldn't win it.

But let's give him a raise because he blew the UF game and then almost won it back with a 55 yard FG attempt.

Not sure what he did to blow it. He wasn't on the field for 4th and 14. Sometimes a roided up QB just beats you

I said, I'd wait until Year 3 to judge Butch. So far some good, some bad. I'm sort of meh on him. Win the East next year and he'll prove his worth IMO.

I think 8-4 is where most people had him this year. It just sucks that we were in position to do more than that which is why people are mad. 1 more win and people would be doing cart wheels.

IF you told me before last season that we'd win 9 games (counting a bowl win) I would have taken it.

Yea I'm pretty skeptical he will ever win a SEC championship, he will probably end up winning the east a couple times
