Why do SEC football schedules remain constant year over year?

Of course, there are some changes (such as when Texas A&M was added to the mix), but for the most part, it seems like LSU plays Miss. State first, Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss towards the end, and the East foes wedged in the middle. I would assume other schools are the same (not just limited to rivalries like the Egg Bowl and Iron Bowl).

This is more a question of curiosity than anything.

Tradition? I doubt there is a great reason other than that's the way things are or that's what the teams want. I'm sure if someone made a fuss, they would shuffle it around a bit.

because of the sacred games
Cocktail party is not moving
Bama Tenn has to be around that time
Fla Tenn has always been early game along with USC UGA

Of course all the end of year games which are not SEC play a part like Clemson USC and Fla Fla St

LSU has played Auburn at different times but every other game is pretty consistent, I do like A&M game last every year much better than hogs

I would rather it be completely random.

The east vs west is earlier to avoid a rematch to close together in the event both teams made the seccg

Also, west vs west late in the year potentially builds excitment for division race

Keeps things simple. And games, especially September games, tend to change over time.

Also, TSIO is on the fourth one. Nobody knows why that was changed. Oh, they'll claim they do, but that's just because they don't want to believe the universe is cold, unfeeling, and bad at math.
