I wish I could go back to the McGarity hire and see how many of his current haters here were as giddy as a schoolgirl when he was announced.

We probably all were. I mean looking at his resume he learned under one of the better ADs around and was part of one of the winningest overall athletic departments in the country.
At the time, there was no reason not to be excited.

They were only months removed from Urban's success there. There was zero indication that he wouldn't bring that same culture of success to Athens.
That said, I want his head on a fricking spike, which will be sealed into the cornerstone of the Jeremy Pruitt IPF.

Exactly why we should not hire Kirby and go for the high IQ outside the program guy.

People are being girls about this. They want to be critical of McGarity for doing his job and call him the bad guy cause he fired the nice guy. C'mon fellers, it's a tough pill to swallow but he's been lenient with Richt I suppose. With that being said, I would've kept him for at least one more season.

There was a pile of dirt on ears before he came home to roost.
He did more to run Urban off from Florida than anything else. He wouldn't pony up salaries to keep his coordinators from running out. Urban had to go behind him to get things done and McGarity carries a grudge to the grave.
First thing he did was cancel the UGA vs tOSU game when he did get in.
He was Dooleys hand picked man for the AD slot and was stiffed at the altar. I don't know if JM likes him or not, but ears runs his ship like captain ahab and if you get on report it's hell getting off.
He would be better off sharpening pencils over at Terry and teaching micro-finance.

Funny that a few here suddenly know all the bad crap about McGarity. For 3 years he was soft and wouldn't fire Richt when the haters wanted him to do so.
Now he's bad because he fired dear, sweet Saint Mark.
Just can't please 'em.
