I would have concerns if I had never seen him play at the college level. I have seen him play though. I have seen him play against SEC competition. I am not worried about our QB situation with JJ, at all.

Honestly, in their defense, I had AU at 10-2 this year with one of the best rushing attacks in the SEC. They could have been one of the best if Gus wasn't a fricking moron. I thought his M.O was being a run-first offense, setting up 3rd-and-manageable, then taking the occasional deep shot down field. Gus went totally against what he tried to implement at AU. Weird situation.

Question for Auburn fans....Do you think Malzahn's play calling is an issue? Specifically in the red zone?

From what I've seen y'all can move the ball between the 20's but once you get into the red zone it sort of stalls out.

Or do you think the struggling offense is just a matter of execution? Shitty qb play basically.

Do you want any changes? Besides the obvious one in a qb that is actually good.
I'm curious.

Play calling, especially in the red zone, and execution has been turrible

It's both. Not sure which begets the other though. Part of me thinks the shitty qb plays makes for bad playcalling, while other times it seems he's setting the qb up to fail (abandoning the run at times).

Not a huge fan of looking inept, so yes. But nothing drastic, like changing coaches.

I think that is the majority of the problem this year. No confidence in either QB, JJ in particular, to make plays.

You can certainly argue that, but he almost completely abandoned the run in the 2nd half vs Bama. Auburn had 1 rushing yard in the 2nd half. I thought that Robinson guy looked really good in the first half, and you guys did a ton of misdirection and counter plays that worked. Don't understand why he abandoned it and went more pass heavy. Especially with Bama controlling TOP

Welcome to our entire season. Especially back half of the season. Jovon looks awesome in the first half then in the second half Gus starts thinking he's Mike Leach.

This is one of the biggest head scratchers...and not just from saturday's game.

Guy came in and took our QBs legs out five yards out of bounds and Stan is talking about the guy that road him out of bounds. It was a solid call but the call against Muschamp was questionable. Muschamp is so out of control he probably said something personal and that is what brought on the penalty.

There aren't really magic words with refs. But if you get personal you are guaranteed to draw a flag. I don't know what he said. Don't really care. I'm cool with the penalty. Kinda wish Gus would have gotten one too. If you're gonna go off on the refs then do it right.

Obviously. I used baseball because we all know there isn't one thing that you can say, it's just discretion.

I'm the wrong person to discuss this, because I think half of a ref/umps job is taking abuse. Get thicker skin and realize that when you call something like that in a heated game you're going to get an earful. I mean really, it's just a coach firing off at you. I'm not sure how you decide, oh now it's personal, here's a penalty.

But yea, it's over, it got called, moving on.

Instead of laughing at Auburn, we should all be asking this guy

to share his thoughts on the next powerball numbers.

Apparently he's the anti-peej.

JJ sucks as a passer and when he hits his man on the numbers they drop them.

...or make an ESPY worthy catch for a TD.

Passing game is consistent they win at least one more game and the IB is much closer to be sure.

From what I've seen running out the shotgun every play does no lend itself to:
1. running on short yardage or in the red zone (especially inside the 10)
2. unless you have great WR's (auburn does not) the short field makes them easy to cover.

Live with a HS offense, die with it.
