Coaches all love/hate Saban

They hate him because he's been so successful. Their records and accomplishments are compared against his and they all come up short on both. Miles, Richt, others are very good coaches but Saban is a once-in-a-generation coach.

They love him because, when he was hired by Alabama, he got every semi-successful coach in America a very hefty pay raise and, when they get their arses fired for not being good enough, they get paid millions and millions of dollars to leave.

I wonder which they'd prefer? To keep their jobs and 9-3 records and $200,000 pay checks, or getting fired with the same record and getting a few million to basically go pay golf?

Which would you prefer?

Sumlin beat Saban once and got a raise to 5 million a year. Before Saban no college coach made anywhere near that. Sumlin's got to be Saban's biggest fan.
