Let's get this clear on why Alabama is ranked No. 4

If LSU were playing Baylor, TCU, Notre Dame, or Michigan State,those teams would be No. 4.
This is all about who plays this weekend. They want to say No. 2 vs. No. 4!!!
It's an easy pick and pretty much takes care of itself after this weekend.

It honestly could not matter less. If Bama beats LSU they will be in anyway. If they don't they would be out anyway. As long as the game is played it won't matter.

I wish non-LSU fans could understand this. On a serious note, if LSU loses a close one in Tuscaloosa, its not inconceivable that both could end up in the playoff.

Bama is undefeated. We beat ourselves against Ole Miss. Technically, that counts as a victory over Alabama. That is a victory over a top 5 team. It makes perfect sense.
