Eddie Jackson... Safety or Corner? (Tony Brown)

I had to make this thread to gloat a little. Me and a few guys got A LOT of crap on this forum last year for ripping Saban for continuing to play Eddie Jackson at CB. I remember how much hell I got for saying he was a safety and needed to move there immediately.
Heck I remember in spring ball when he was still playing some corner and we complained and people thought we didn't know better.
Glad to be vindicated. Eddie Jackson was never a CB, he was always a safety; played there in high school and was much better there.
Now that is done with on to the next player. TONY BROWN.
Tony Brown needs to move to safety. While he can play corner he would be a far better safety. I hope he is watching the success Eddie Jackson is having and it is convincing him to do what is best for his own career.

I was firmly in that crowd that said Eddie should stay at cb. Most of that thinking was in the other players abilities. Cyrus has locked down his spot and no one else had emerged yet. I still think he could be a good cb but it is clear he is where he needs to be.
I will say this though I have never doubted this unit would come together and be a great one. They continue to get better as well.

Who was the idiot that said Eddie Jackson wouldn't make a good safety, and cited the A-Day game as example?
I wish I would have bookmarked that.

Pretty sure most people here felt Eddie should move to safety. Ystar was just the only one who felt like starting a thread saying it was all his idea.

A cornerback being better as a safety is somekind of big prediction?

I'm pretty sure you're full of shite, because that was a big discussion point on this forum and many a downvote and bashing was given to those posters who dared to rip Saban for continuing to start Eddie Jackson at CB.
It is no surprise like clockwork some of you develop short memories because all along everybody believe the same, right?

If we could only bookmark all the dumb crap that gets said which is quickly "forgotten" once proven wrong.
I guess people forgot that our DBs all suck, huh? I remember that crap was still popularly said after the Ole Miss game but now that never happened as well.

Sorry bro, nobody is going to bow down to you in this thread for being some god of football knowledge. Most of us felt a move to safety was the best situation for EJ. It really isn't that original of an opinion. Get over yourself.

I'm sure you're a really swell guy to hang out with IRL...
It wouldn't hurt to turn it down a couple of notches. This isn't a competition here.

I agree on Brown and been saying it all season. Fitz, Hump, Harrison, and Brown as our DBs.

With Kendall Sheffield at Star and Hootie Jones at Money. Plus Evans and Williams playing more, as will Da'Shawn Hand.
I'm starting to think we've got more talent on the roster now than ever before.

I don't know who said what.
I just know that cornerback is harder to play than safety and as long as a guy can make open field tackles they should always do better as a safety.
It's an extremely popular and normal change of positions at basically all levels of the game.

Eddie Jackson needs to start returning punts and kickoffs.

Again, bullshite.
- Where did I say I was the only person? I specifically was speaking of posters (me included)... so read and comprehend better next time.
- Most? Stop lying. It was a heavily unpopular opinion this time last year and there were a handful of us who beat the drum about it and got flamed for it.
I guess you guys are okay with posters ganging up and downvoting, but get sore when the poster(s) who were "victim" come back to say "told you so". I don't care. Keep being sore.

Maybe we should have played with 4 safeties last year and let Cyrus Jones cover all the WRs on his own.

We had no better options at corner last season. There would be no reason for anyone to have thought playing him at safety last year would have improved our defensive backfield.
ETA: Honestly, posting this is like patting yourself on the back for not knowing what you were talking about.

The Ole Miss game last season? They did suck.
This season? Anyone who was concerned about this team after the Ole Miss game this season wasn't paying attention.
