Ohio State/Michigan State/Michigan.

Likely one of these teams will make the playoff. All three control their own destiny. The first elimination bout is this weekend when Michigan State (6-0) travels to Michigan (5-1).

TCU/Baylor

Baylor looks to be the stronger of the two this year, and we have to wait until Thanksgiving weekend to see these two teams play. Both teams should watch out for the Oklahoma schools, and Oklahoma State has playoff aspirations of their own.

Utah

Utah is this year's Mississippi State. Has had a great first half of the season, has a couple of nice wins, but can they handle the pressure? They do not have the luxury that MSU had last year of being able to afford one loss. They should be favored in every game they play this season, but there are a couple midlevel teams (UCLA, USC, Arizona State) that are capable of beating the Utes.

Clemson/Florida State
The winner of this game will November 7 definitely be in the playoff race, barring any major upsets. FSU is Clemson's lone remaining ranked opponent. FSU has a trip to Gainesville that they would have to win as well.

LSU/Texas A&M/Florida/Alabama
Four SEC teams competing, and its very possible that if everyone ahead of them keeps winning, they would be fighting for the last spot. Two elimination games this weekend with Florida-LSU, and Bama-A&M. Bama is the only of these three that has to win out to have a chance at the playoff, Florida would have the best one loss resume in the nation if they lost to LSU and won out.

Watch Out for:

Ole Miss
Rebels would have to win out, win the SEC and have a little help from say, the Oklahoma schools in the Big 12.

Notre Dame
Let's face it. If its close, the name Notre Dame will grab them a 4 seed over just about anyone but Clemson at this point.

Oklahoma State and Iowa
We forget that these two Power 5 teams are still undefeated.

I would work Stanford into your PAC 10 equation and good point about Iowa. Their schedule is silly easy.

How are they any different from UF, LSU, AM, or Bama? One of which they beat at home. Ole Miss wins out then they get another shot at UF so that part of your post makes no sense at all.

All of them pretty much have to depend on other teams. The only way UF gets into the play-offs with an SECCG loss is if their opponent has two losses going into the game. Bama, obviously, can't afford another loss, and LSU and TAMU loser has to hope the winner of the game has two SEC losses or they're not going to the SECCG. We saw last season with the B12 how important the CCG is to the committee.

If Ohio State, Baylor, Utah and Clemson win out, a one loss SEC Champion would probably be left out. That's why Ole Miss needs help.

Stanford - I just don't see a one loss Pac Champ making a playoff. That's why I left them out.

The team that no one is talking about is Iowa. They play on the bad side of the B1G, and may very well go undefeated. If they beat Michigan/Michigan STate/Ohio State in the B1G Championship game, are they going to leave a 13-0 B1G Champ out?
