It's pretty simple. Typical fan overreaction. 2016 was always the target.
Unless he completely tanks this year.........I'm talking like 5/6 wins, then he'll get next year.

I agree, but don't you think 5-6 wins is about where we are headed? Seven wins, to me right now, seems like a stretch.

8-5 (shitty bowl win) is still pretty possible IMO with some improvement made.
That would be our best record since 2007 and would still be a positive trend.
I've not 100% given up on Butch and his staff turning it around.
When we get to loss #6 though I'll be ready.

Classes on OCT 7th don't matter.
We finish 8-5 and 4-4 in the SEC he'll be able to sell that to recruits and land a top 10 class.
You can't question the guys ability to sell at this point.

Not on the OL. At least not any that are healthy or have meaningful experience. I thought UT COULD have won the East this year, but was skeptical solely for that reason. And the whole Butch being UT's coach thing.

Agreed, TN has some pieces of an SEC title winning team but are far from complete right now.
RB's, TE, WR's (if all were healthy and available) and DE's.
But the OL is still young and not good enough at pass blocking. Combine that with Dobbs inaccurate downfield throwing ability and the injured receivers and that has killed the passing game.
The DT's and MLB are freshman so the middle of our D has been suspect.
The DB's have been A HUGE disappointment, but the loss of Gaulden has hurt a lot there.
It didn't help the D lost their team leader in Maggitt in the early 4th qtr of the Oklahoma game. We haven't been the same since then.
Looking at next year.
4 OL back, lose a couple WR's but they aren't healthy right now. Everyone else on O back.
on D the only thing we lose is two really underperforming Safety's and maybe Cam Sutton.
2016 should be MUCH, Much better.
