My school, San Jose State, is very lucky to have this guy as their OC. His salary at San Jose must be a tenth of what he made at all his other stops, including Michigan. So why did he come here? Not sure. But, I want to know what was the feelings in your area when he announced his departure? Especially since we would have tried hard to keep a guy who went 41-9 during his tenure at your school. Was his departure really due to just 9 total losses?

We figured out he was wrong about the whole "Xs and Os - Jimmys and Joes" thing after all.

Tubbs was between a rock and a hard place, the offense looked inept Borges last year, so there was no other option but to fire the OC.

It's no different from Gus firing Ellis Johnson last year.

It's what head coaches do to keep the heat off their arse when shite goes south on offense or defense and the fanbase gets in an uproar.

Boos were reigning through the seat of Jordan-Hare in 2007.

And Tuberville was always willing to sacrifice a coach who wasn't part of his BBQ Boy Inner-Circle to save his job.

The BBQ Boy Inner-Circle though? Tubs sacrificed his job for them he loved them so much. He loved them more than he loved his own program.

Because he is a good to great play caller but a craptacular developer of QB's.

Jason Campbell was a million piece puzzle with half the pieces missing before Al turned him into the SEC POY and a 1st Rounder...

This.

I like Al, and I think he did a damn fine job for us the first couple of years - but I still think the hit he took on the sideline during the '05 Iron Bowl must've done something to his playcalling ability. Our offense was never the same after that play.

One of these days I'm going to add up our stats under Borges through the 1st quarter of that game, and then our stats through the end of the '07 IB. I'm pretty sure there's a dramatic dropoff.

I was at every game and don't remember any brown paper bags.

That may have been 2008.
