Former Alabama wideout DeAndrew White and South Carolina quarterback Dylan Thompson were among the most impressive undrafted rookies during the final week of Organized Team Activities for the San Francisco 49ers, according to team reporter Taylor Price.

With (Colin) Kaepernick missing Friday’s session along with Smith, Gabbert and Thompson were the greatest beneficiaries. The unrafted rookie saw a lot of reps in the later stages of practice. Gabbert unofficially completed 27 of 34 pass attempts with two interceptions and one touchdown pass to Quinton Patton. As for Thompson, the SEC’s passing leader of 2014 was able to connect with his undrafted receivers. White caught several of the back-shoulder throws. Washington receiver DiAndre Campbell hauled in a few crossing routes, and on one short throw, Utah wideout Dres Anderson took a quick pass and made it a 20-plus yard gain with a nifty inside cut up the field. Thompson’s comfort in the offense should be noted as he did not throw an interception on the day, and that was with a heavy workload.

Thompson had the best overall camp for the QB's who participated. He's on track to potentially making that 53 man roster or at least being their $6K a week Practice Squad QB. I think he might make that roster though and it's a $ matter.

Gabbert is due to make $1.5M this year and $1.7M next year. B/c Thompson is a UDFA, Thompson would only cost SF $435K this season. Gabbert has $500K of Dead Money against the Salary Cap, but If Thompson has a better camp in July as well, the club can save over $1M by waiving Gabbert. Plus, if Thompson continues to have a better camp than Gabbert, these reports keep coming out and SF tries to Practice Squad him, Thompson can see if he can get a UDFA with another team.

All Thompson has to do is keep showing that he's the 2nd best QB on that roster and he's going to get paid.
