Why would the #1 seed not be the home team?

Just curious since I just turned the tv on and saw LSU is the home team in the softball World Series. I would have thought the higher seed would get that advantage as a reward ie home field for regionals and supers.

home team generally goes to the team that has been home team the least times in baseball and softball. this is the case in the conference tournament as well
