Seating capacity of the SL facility is only 7500. They could 86 the waterpark in the outfield area and get a bunch more in.

Nashville - that city that is opened 52 weeks a year? I can do that any of the other 51 weeks out of the year. I would rather walk the few hundred feet up the hill to that world class rv in the not so world class rv park and fire up the Weber (got to travel light, you know), throw on a nice strip steak, get an ice cold beer out of the ice cold refrig in the outdoor kitchen and while the wife makes a world class salad, I watch the perfectly cooked steak. All of that for probably 1/4 the price of staying in Nashville. SEC baseball tourney is only one week out of the year. Again, I can go to Nashville any time I want.

Why do you think Memphis would get it over Nashville? I know they have a great ballpark, but now Nashville does as well. Just curious

People who keep saying Regions have either never been to the tourney or never been to a game at Regions.
No Parking at all at Regions and its downtown.

A lot of people seem unhappy with the present location. I'd like to see a rotation of three or four cities unless and until they find a place that seems to really work well to be the permanent home.
There are lots of good options already suggested that have nice venues and are conveniently located. My personal choices would probably be Memphis and either Birmingham or Hoover since they don't have other big SEC events.
Nashville, Atlanta, and New Orleans also seem like pretty good options but they have other big SEC events and I like the idea of spreading things around. Some of the other parks look nice (like Pensacola), but I don't think the venue is big enough.

Looks to me like Nashville is closer to 7 schools. And Bama looks pretty close to both. They're both pretty central
Actually, bama is closer to Nashville. So, Nashville is closer to 8 schools

About a year ago, someone posted on here that they did the math and determined that the geographic center of the SEC had shifted from the Birmingham area to the Huntsville area after Mizzou and A&M were added to the conference. I don't know how accurate that info is, but it seems to make sense, from what I can tell.
As for Huntsville, it does have a AA minor league team called the Stars. Their stadium is nice (was built about 30 years ago and renovated/upgraded about 10 years ago). Recently, the owner has said that it needs to be modernized again or replaced altogether. The city has declined to do so, so the Stars will be moving to Biloxi. I suppose that, despite the owner's claim that the park is now obsolete, it would be sufficient enough to host an SEC tournament.

Centrality was their justification for keeping at Hoover for years even when there were way better venues. New commissioner coming in next year might change all of that. SEC is a money whore. We shall see. It will go to the highest bidder, even if it's Dodgers Stadium.
