Sounds like somebody was listening to SVP and Russillo the other day.

Is there a bigger racket in the world? We all know who should and will be contacted. I would've done it for half that!

Why are they paying for an athletic director?

Have you seen what happens when UT's athletic director gets involved?

External Recruiters make boatloads of money. My company pays these guys a % of the salary we get folks for, the numbers might shock you - 10-20% of annual salary is pretty common.

I get that...when your looking for the candidate best out of many people. Anyone who filled out an NCAA bracket could've limited UT's search to a handful of guys.

Thinks you over estimate your importance. Your AD is in shambles, your JUCO running back will be a non-factor; and you, my friend, are acting kind of dickish.

The emotion I feel regarding UT is laughter. Only thing I fear is climbing the steps at Neyland after downing a few Makers.

I look forward to your melt when VOLS throttle the Dawgs in Kneeland this fall and reclaim their throne as kings of the east.

Truth (well regarding the last one and this one anyway as the others weren't bad at all). However, with Hart at the helm, 51k is a small price to pay for a search firm. If they'd asked for triple that amount it would still be a good deal for us.

If you're looking for a melt you'll be disappointed I'm afraid. I think that will be our toughest game next year....including Bama. And don't read to much into the tone of that post. That was for one particular douche. Law of averages says you gotta beat us again sometime. Hayull, even Ga Tech snacthed one last year.

51K is a very cheap fee for an executive search.

My brother is in that business and typical fee is 30% of the salary of the person hired. He makes an absolute killing.

I'm sure he did this so he didn't have to be publically denied multiple times a la Michael White. A search firm can go "Hey, you interested?" If it's a no- no shame to the university.

Yes it's pricy but it's the only way that the schools can avoid open record requests. Everything the AD does can be opened up to the public. By forking over a little cash, the AD just tells the firm his top priorities. Once the coach is interested the school will go on the record with it.
