UT may have some cachet. But they are short on cash money.
So probably not.

At the risk of provoking some mountain gump into using the term BaseVols *shudder*, why do you believe Bama baseball is the better job?
Athletic department administration, history, recruiting base, current facility upgrades in progress.
Of all of those things for sure, but I think a history of winning a lot of games would be most important. Bama ranks 15th in all-time wins. UT isn't in the top 50. I think having a proven ability to have a successful program makes a job a lot more attractive.
Vanderbilt's recent rise to the top in baseball also makes that UT job a little less attractive, IMO.

I disagree.
I think Tennessee is a virus and Hart is the cure.
I disagree, I think you're a crazy glue sniffer.

While that's great, Bama hasn't really been relevant in baseball in about 20 years (EDIT: I have to take this back, I forgot about 2002). At some point, the wins in the 90s don't really matter. Recruiting base in baseball is a silly concept. That's a football idea that doesn't really translate to baseball.

I almost never disagree with you, but
No, we're not.

We're comparing Bama to UT, though, right?
Bama's made the NCAA Tournament 11 times to UT's 3 just since 2000.

Tennessee has excellent basketball support and I'd certainly agree that it is a bit better job than Alabama.
However, what the numerous "rank the program threads" here make clear above all else is that there's really not that much difference in any of the programs after Kentucky.
It mainly comes down to who's coaching (like what did Donovan at UF) and the willingness of the AD to spend money on the facilities, recruiting budget etc. . .
If those things are in place, there's really no SEC program that has any large built-in disadvantage like with football or any, after Kentucky, that's simply head and shoulders above the rest.

Tennessee athletic department is a dumpster fire so I would disagree that it is a better hoops job

That's fair. Kind of what I was getting at in my post. After Kentucky there's just not any advantages or disadvantages significant enough to where attracting a good coach doesn't mainly come down to paycheck and how comfortable he is with the AD support.

He won't. Because with Dave Hart as AD, Tennessee is not a better hoops job. Dave Hart is a cancer, a Gump cancer.
Get ready to come on back home, Dave. Your mission is nearly over...successfully, I might add.
By the way, let them know that this was pay back for Phat Phil's actions, and if they frick with us again....we'll be back!
