Augustin was there that year, he and Durant were both true freshmen, Tho they did have a better overall team the year after. Damien james and dexter Pittman were a pretty dynamic duo inside.

I thought he came in the next year for some reason. They must have went to Final Four his Sophomore year then.
The best aTm game I saw was Winston Crite and that team beat the Baptist Boys to win SWC tourney as an 8 seed.
They beat TCU in first round and then Tech I think. They only lost to Duke by 6 in first round.

I think Arkansas being an expansion team eliminates them from consideration.

What? So the greatest SECT games both had 1 specific teams in it are not great?
Nevermind they lost both of them, but they were great games.
I wished I could find my copy of that Bama Arkansas game, but I think it got taken to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico in Katrina. I know that is where the UK Arkansas copy is.

Yeah. Auburn had two teams that got to #1 in the nation. Then we got in NCAA trouble.

Mississippi State at Alabama 2004 for the SEC championship. State rallied back from an 18 point lead to win the outright SEC title. Lawrence Roberts, Timmy Bowers and Shane Power led State to one of my most satisfying wins as a State fan.
