I went to Athens in 2003. I enjoyed it other than seeing a bad Alabama team get worked over. I heard bad stories from the 2008 "blackout" game.

That's because all of the idiots still came despite the gas crisis at the time and local law enforcement warning that they'd get stuck there (which is exactly what happened).

I went to a game in Athen once and the fans kept spitting on me...like incessantly spitting. They also kept throwing drinks at me (to which I buttchugged) and were especially rude to the ladies (maybe they were gays?). Anyway, Ill never go back to Athens again.

1a. Miss St. growing up in Baton Rouge, this was a trip I could make in a day. Have been to 7 games in Starkville since 96. The venue and town aren't much to speak of, but the people have always been fantastic. Always been able to score good seats for not much money, EVERY time have been invited into a random state tailgate and given food and great convo...just very hospitable people IMO.

The town and night scene are just now starting to grow. Starkville has nowhere to go but up.

They're hospitable as long as you're not in red and blue.

Only been to home razorback games, but I have been to Bryant Denny Stadium while passing through Tuscaloosa. It's like a football palace I've been to Williams Brice Stadium several times as well. The cockaboose is pretty awesome. I imagine it's pretty expensive to get a seat there for the game.

Talk all the shite you want TA, but Starkville has developed more in the last 5 years than the previous 20. It's becoming a great place to be. Would pick here over Baton Rouge 7 days of the week. It's an awesome experience if you're a student. I can understand these 40 year old turds not having fun.

Least: Tennessee (But only because it was OOC). Want to see State play there.

Favorites:

1. Auburn - nicest fans ever, we didn't even get a chance to set up our tailgate.
2. LSU - nice as well, but I fear what would've happened had we won that game
3. Tennessee - lots of friends there, it's always a huge reunion for me

Least favorites:

1. UGA - nice campus, lovely stadium but inhospitable fans. We didn't get invited to a tailgate once.
2. Vandy - I'll never travel to a Vandy game again
3. Mississippi State - nice fans, game was fine, but Starkville is dreadful.

Gainesville is in it's own category. It's funny how after the game the fans were p'd off because we had won and not very friendly.. but then later that night when we went out it was like they didn't even cared. Everybody was really cool haha..

Best: UGA and Bama

Great venues and always have good teams. Treated well at both places.

Worst: TENN and Ole Miss

Tennessee was beautiful (scenery wise) but everything else sucked.

Ole Miss is just turrible and the Grove is overrated.

Honorable Mention: UF

Boring pre-game and nothing to do around town. Drive sux too.
