Pretty impressive. I have always wondered why our men's golf team never had more success. Clemson had a really nice run and has way more guys on tour than us, but maybe things are about to turn around.

I agree. I think having Alex Hamilton as an assistant with the men's team was a huge boost. He played for USC in the early-mid 2000's. He's a great guy who has an eye for the game. He played professionally for a few years with some success on the mini tours. Mostly he's a very personable guy, which to me has been lacking with Puggy and others. (Not knocking Puggy, jmho)
Eta: I didn't see Puggy on the coaching roster. Is he no longer involved with the program?
What do you all think of the current HC? I don't know anything about him.

Does anyone know how golf facilities work for school teams? A&M has one on campus, as does Clemson. I know you can take a Golf class here, not sure if it's for recreational use like a club or anything, but I'm not sure if it's like a school's "home arena" as well?
Just wondering how that type of thing might impact how well schools do in terms of getting talent and such.

Most schools, even very large ones don't have exclusive courses for their teams or university staff. They partner with or sponsor a local course.
SC plays at Cobblestone Park, also known as University Club. It's a private club, but the public can play there some days and when times are available.
It's about 20 minutes south of Columbia.

the taters have the Walker Course. It's near campus and on Lake Hartwell. You can get tee times there too. It's a nice course.

If you want to compare courses too, clemson has an 18 hole course and SC has 27 holes...then there's a lot of subjective comparisons after that.

It's great, these early rankings. I hope both teams finish strong. It's been awhile coming - we're past due.
