quote:
A brinicle (brine icicle, also known as ice stalactite) forms beneath sea ice when a flow of extremely cold, saline water is introduced to an area of ocean water, being the undersea equivalent of a hollow stalactite or icicle.
Why does the saline water freeze and but the ocean water remain fluid?

The new things I continue to see in my lifetime ...
If this world continues to supplies us with so many extraordinary surprises ... just imagine what we are going to find under the ice on Europa and Enceladus.
I will not live to see it, but many of you may.
It's going to be incredible.
