Joe Kines was let go on November 27, 2009 and Tim DeRuyter was hired on January 21, 2010.
That took 55 days.

If it takes that long to get a quality coach like TD, I am willing to wait. I hated that we had to get rid of him to get rid of Sleepy Sherman.

Which is something we won't know for a season or two. It is all about patience.
There is a clock counting down, but it is not for the DC hire. It is a clock that starting ticking the day of 0-59. It is the alarm for having real success on the football field.
This offseason doesn't run any time off that clock, but it could have added to it. We get Boom, and we get Malik/Mack, and Sumlin could have another 7 win season next year without EVERYONE turning against him. Now, no matter the hire, there needs to be near immediate results. Like 8+ wins next year, or seven with a big win over LSU.
