Watched a majority of it last night. Two hour panel featuring Pollack, Kanell, and Galloway. Even though its the usual cast of characters, you'd never know Alabama was in the playoff. It was actually kind of astonishing. No doubt in my mind that in the media's eyes, Oregon is the favorite going into the playoff.
As for Galloway, I just have to shake my head. The Amari comment aside, how someone can be featured prominantly on ESPN and say things like "this Alabama DL is nowhere near as good as the ones Saban has had in the past" is beyond me. I understand people like to make controversial statements so posters like me can run to the nearest message board to post about them...but at least have some knowledge of what you're talking about. It makes you appreciate guys like Mark May and McElroy, who obviously do their homework instead of trying to increase their profile on Twitter.

Galloway is an OSU homer. Much like our friend Danny Kanell, he would rather put out some really stupid statements than evaluate teams based on talent, play on the field, etc.
I will give Palmer some credit however. He seems to have come a long way in hiis evaluation of teams as of late. He actually tries to set his bias to the side, much more now than in the past. Galloway... he will see just how "poor" our DL is in a few short weeks.

Kannell is a fool. He hates Bama so much that he can't be objective.
Galloway couldn't get a job pumping gas if he wasn't a football player. He also isn't very well spoken.

Honestly, when I found out Alabama was playing Ohio St., I was beyond excited! The more I thought about it, the more I didn't like it cause Ohio St. would hear for a month about how they will get killed and Bama would hear for a month about how slow Ohio St. is and how much better they are.
Needless to say, I am glad these people are saying things like this, hopefully it will give Bama that fire and keep them hungry!

There's a reason why Kannel went from relative obscurity to being a lead talking head on ESPN in about a year. He knows that trolling Bama fans equals publicity.
I'm not a fan of Kannel, but I feel like at least he can reasonably explain his opinions. Galloway can't and seems to get really defensive when someone disagrees with him.

Exactly. Clay would still just be a lawyer with a part-time blog if Bama fans had paid him no attention.

Agreed. Kanell is still at least somewhat likable in the rare moments he sheds bias. I just don't see that coming from Joey. He gets really emotional everytime I watch him on there, makes me think he had a bunch of concussions during his 20-year tenure at the college and pro levels. Either way, I tweeted him his own tweet from September last night. The one where he tweeted "Alabama is the most overrated team in football."

It's amateur hour for me to actually care this much, but frick Joey Galloway. The faces he makes when others even hint at something positive about Alabama just blow my mind. How unprofessional can one guy be?! Kanell doesn't hate Alabama. He loves FSU. It's almost sad how much he wants FSU to win. Like, I could see him crying on set trying to will FSU to a victory Joey fricking haaaates Alabama. Last night someone started to say something good about them and he cut them off by saying "yeah yeah, we'll see." Then went on to pump up OSU. Guy is a fricking moron.
If Alabama beats OSU that motherfricker better be front and center on the CFB shows

I think it's because his last game as a Buckeye was a loss to Bama. It's pretty funny.

Kanell isn't as bad as I thought he was at first. I find his reasoning somewhat believable. He just likes to rile people up on Twitter. Galloway's mind is so clouded with hate for Bama, I just laugh every time he speaks.
ETA: Rece Davis is great at what he does.

And the people's favorite as well. I see a lot of the Espn polls and usually Alabama is always on top of them. This year Oregon edged out Bama as the favorite to win it.

Weren't you one of those posters after the Ole Miss saying some of the same stuff??
Why get mad at them, when you were no different?

I would have no problem with Oregon being favorited. They are good

We can make both of the idiots New Year sad, if only FSU can beat Oregon, I have them beating Oregon, the Pac is weak this year.

The Amari comment (what was the comment ?)
He said that Ohio State got the best draw in the playoff because with Alabama, all you have to do is shut Amari down and Sims wouldn't be able to beat you. He added to that by saying a defense should commit as many men as possible to shutting Cooper down.
Brilliant analysis.
Posted on 12/14/14 at 9:31 pm to FairhopeTider
That may be the dumbest analysis I've ever seen. Galloway was a damn WR too. He should know better. You would think he could see that White and Jones can beat a defense as well.

My favorite part was when right after he said that about Amari and Alabama's dline. Pollack popped up with this one liner "I'll take the team with 9 defensive lineman who can all play at an elite level". Or something close to that. Galloway looked at him confused and asked "Are you talking about Ohio State"? Pollack emphatically answered "No! Alabama" and then proceeded to go into detail about why Alabama has a great d line. Galloway's face was in shock, looked like he had just been bitch slapped, well, because he had.
Tevin Coleman ran for 224 yards on OSU, everyone seems to forget that because of how they shut down Gordon. You can run the ball on them. I would love it if Amari does hardly anything and we win by 2-4 TDs. Just to really mess him.
