So Steck took Mo State job to get HC experience to takeover when Pinks leaves

Otherwise, why would he take a cut in pay to coach at a crappy program that just so happens to be in-state? He could've been a head coach at far better football schools.

Mo State happens to be in state which means he will remain a familiar face to high school coaches and recruits.

I imagine that he may have expressed his desire to takeover when Pinkel retires and he was advised to have head coaching experience on his resume when that time comes.

Don't see that happening, although we did hire an old basketball coach too.

Side note. Went to Silver Dollar City last night with the wife and young'in. Holy cow that place was a sardine can.

We were told that 23,000 people were at Silver Dollar when we were there a few weekends ago. Fire code allows something like 27,000. It was packed

He wanted to be a head coach and this was the best he could do.
