somewhere I read that this years SEC Bowl teams will rake in as much as 43 million for the conference, add to that the 55 million for the CBS contract and the approx. 30 million per team for the SECN payout. We can expect everyone to take home around 34ish this year for TV revenue alone. Not too paltry.

Great post. My favorite game of the year was the LSU vs. Alabama game. Sticks out in my mind because every snap seemed like a war with the guy lined up across from the other. Really quality play on both lines.

I'm noticing a trend.
I'd expect the Sugar Bowl and title game to make that list.

Really? That game was a snooze fest outside of the final minute.

quote:maybe the broke arse athletic departments can afford to pay off the dead weight coaches they have to fire every time they lose to bama. meanwhile our football program was already posting 40 mil in profit before the sec network money. maybe one year we will just throw the bama basketball team a bone and build them a new venue with football pocket change

Kind of surprises me given how Auburn limped in to that game. ESPN did a great job building the hype.

I'm not sure how long someone must watch to record in the ratings, but I'm sure auburn leading at halftime and then going up by double digits in the third kept neutral viewers who wanted to see the upset. Most of those quit watching half way through the 4th.

POOOOOOOR Big 12. Yet another year, yet another top 10 list they don't make. The RRR has officially lost its shine.
Time to go rub this in...
