Tyren Jones

We need to use Tyren Jones more in our run game effective immediately. He runs violently and creates a spark on offense that we need to control the clock and open up the passing game. I know Tyren is young and the OL play is key for our run game but he needs to see more carries in our rotation starting next week.

This is the first time I've seen him playing, or at least the first time I've noticed him. What's he weigh? He ran very well, fighting for yards and doing some really nice spin moves, but he looked tiny compared to most of Saban's RBs. About Ingram's height but without Ingram's build.

I saw this as well. He is very fast and runs hard without fear of contact. If he could put on some more weight (not sure what he weighs now) he would be like a tiny, fast, bowling ball. His vision seems very good as well, like Ingrams.

Hope I am wrong but I figure he will transfer.

Oh, he has good vision. I was impressed with the way he anticipated approaching tackles.
(Less impressed with Tenpenny's vision, but if Saban praises him, I'm not going to disagree. Besides, they're two different styles -- Jones looked like the kind of runner Bama thrives on, able to take it strong through a hole, while Tenpenny seemed a lot more comfortable heading for the edge.)

Tyren is listed as 5'9 212lbs. To me, he looks like he runs harder than Henry who is 6'3 241lbs. Tyren Jones doesn't shy away from contact, he has great vision and runs like you slapped his momma.
I think we should start giving him around 5-7 carries a game as a change of pace and to give Yeldon/Henry a break. I can see Tyren being a main contributor next season.

He would do well on screens, draws, jet sweeps, etc as well. Dude is explosive. Got a burst like Drake does when he is in the game.

I've watched Tyren throughout the year and he's been more impressive than Altee so far. He's explosive, quick, and doesn't shy from contact. Home run threat anytime a hole opens.

I agree and with Drake out and Yeldon banged up, we need to use him more. We are lacking highly physical running backs right now.

He at least earned himself a few carries in the Iron Bowl and beyond. Fowler potentially did as well. Having a physical back run up the middle will do wonders at softening up a defense.

I feel like this team has missed that type of back this year.

I couldn't agree more. Don't get me wrong, Yeldon and Henry are very talented but they don't run with as much physicality as Ingram and Richardson. The physical running is what wears down a defense and helps to create long, sustained drives where we can control the clock and keep the ball out of the hands of a high octane opposing offense.

Fowler?
I realize he's not an rb but we have used him like that in the past and he can certainly fill that role. He also played pretty well this past game.

I'll tell Nick at lunch tomorrow. Shouldn't be a problem getting it in.

This time last year people were saying the same about Derrick Henry.
Fast forward a year and now people are making a "Is Henry a bust" thread.
I predict in another year, if Tyren Jones will be questioned as a bust and another RB (Bo? Tenpenny?) will be praised.
In the end every single one of these RBs will go to the NFL because every single one of these RBs (yes Henry included) are damn good.

But there were always questions about Henry's vision.
No one doubts Tyren's vision.

He was impressive, and Godzilla looks tiny next to Derrick Henry.

Georgia beat Auburn with their running game. We have at least 4 capable runners all with differnt styles. They can't tackle, make them tackle.

That's exactly who I thought of when I saw him for the first time.
He is the spitting image of 22 running.
