Had to follow on Twitter. Why'd we get off to such a slow start? Once the offense got going how did we look? How did D look? What happened with Mincy?

We started uninspired

We went to half time uninspired

We won uninspired

We had a penalty on the first play of the game and it did not stop

Mindy played like shite and should have been removed from the entire game

Our offense line got their shite pushed in by a fcs team

Nick Marshall over threw and under threw

CAP, Kris Frost and Monty played like bosses

We basically ran the same plays al night

Starters played until 6 mins left in the game instead of resting and letting the backups get some development

We melted

There will be another sponsorship for my tackle very soon

Defense played well. We are playing uninspired ball, think first half against TAMU, second half against UGA. When we fumbled against TAMU, the team lost focus, that has not changed.

D actually played well. They gave up a few big plays, but it was solid. Our O, besides CAP, was shite. bama gonna rape us.

fricking Mincy had his normal game. He got burnt. He got a few PI calls, but one was a BS call. He acted like he did something when the QB overthrew the guy he was covering. He got into it with a Samford guy, after the whistle, and got a PF called on him. Gus yanked his butt off the field for quite a while. Late in the game he got an INT. This proves that a blind hog will find an acorn every now and then.

Oh yeah, bama gonna rape us.

We sucked.

We were good.

We sucked again.

JJ got some time but he wasn't able to make the team look unbeatable.

Any chance we didn't put up more points since it was 1. Against Samford out of respect for Sullivan and 2. Keeping it conservative before Bama?

We're reciecers dropping balls or did Marshall look bad?

I know Gus said what he did about Kodi. Don't really care about that.

We took the ball to start the game. We went three and out, after a penalty on the first play. Samford had an 11 play drive but we stopped them on fourth and 1 around our 40. On the second play after that, Nick under threw a ball to Coates, who was double covered, and it was picked. We didn't score until half way through the second quarter.

Their DL pushed our OL around the entire first half. Cap and Bray on jet sweeps was our O for most of the game. Nick stood in the pocket way too long many times. He had bad reads on the read option. Nick had a shitty game.

I don't think the respect for Pat, or Kodi knowing us, had anything to do with how poorly the O looked. It was all about lack of execution. It has been the exact same thing since the A&M game.

Nope. Samford had its way with our o line for a large portion of the game. We may have been very vanilla with some of the play calling, but we weren't prepared to play and we were outplayed much of the game.

Hell, we attempted a flea flicker against Samford.

Didn't even watch the game. Pretty meaningless game. There was no way we were going to loss and no way we were going to be motivated either. Really just a scrimmage to dick off and fill some space while we get ready for the IB this week.

We should have played the starters for the 1st qtr and then brought in the backups- regardless of the score. Most of the starters did not want to play

Watching the game for the first time. I asked in an earlier post about AU going "easy" on Samford out of respect for Sullivan.

Have only seen the first AU offensive drive and obviously CJ should have caught one of those passes, but the third down where Marshall was sacked has conservative play calling all over it. Normally, Marshall would have tucked it and run. He definitely could have taken it. I'm guessing that was part of the game plan.

Still haven't gotten to anything where the O line is pushed around.

You think part of the gameplan was to have the QB take a sack on 3rd down instead of running for a first down?

Not take a sack, but stay in the pocket as long as possible. Even the announcers said he should have tucked it and run after so long.

Yeah, maybe it's silly to think that, but who knows at this point. Maybe it was conservative play calling or maybe our offense is hot garbage.

I agree with this and they may have planned for Nick to not run much to avoid injury, but there were problems offensively that were caused primarily by poor oline play and secondarily by poor qb play.
