the university wants Hog fans to be classy and not rush the field. kind of condescending to insinuate your fans are classless after enduring the last few years of futility eh?

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with students rushing their home field after a huge win. But from the university's perspective, if they don't publicly discourage it and attempt to block it with security, it probably leaves them open to some sort of liability if something bad happens.

I also hate the SEC rule on this. Before we joined the SEC (happiest day of my football fan life) after each home game, all parents were allowed to bring their kids down onto the field to play catch, take pictures and enjoy the feeling . I remember pretending to be Javorskie Lane while my son tried to tackle me on my way into the endzone after one game years ago. (now his big arse would hurt me and I would never score

yep, there was nothing unclassy about it at all, it was just a sweet celebration. it's not like the students yelled suck that hog blah or anything.

If our fans hadn't stormed the field after the miserable few years we've had I'd have been disappointed. I suspect it is a liability thing where they are required to say these things so they don't get sued to kingdom come.
