What was his motivation for throwing the long ball? No trust in the kicker? Glory? AU - UGA 2013?

Pretty much.
Freeze wanted a throw-away or quick out. Treadwell was open underneath and likely would've gotten out of bounds.
I blame Freeze for not making that clear enough to Dr. Bro.

He took the game into his own hands when he wasn't supposed to. He said in an interview today he didn't execute the play like he should have.
