Saban filmed Oklahoma's walk through in the Dome in January 04.
and gregg williams helped bama game plan for the option before the BCS NGC, even though he's been in the NFL for over 20 years and never even seen the fricking thing (except when LSU did their walk through in the superdome, of course).

but poor nick saban was helpless to stop jordan jefferson, the modern day tommie frazier, he couldn't take another 9 point onslaught like he suffered in tuscalosa, and was humble enough to take whatever help he could get, even from total strangers. saban is just that kind of guy.

How many national championship s would they have won? I think Miles is a great recruiter but very overrated as a coach.. elite talent every year.. Saban would have been able to continue to get talent and is a much better coach. Been saying it for years that LSU arguably has the best talent year in and year out but Miles is not an elite x s and o's guy.. Average at best

10/10 for pissing off all of the Miles dickriders on Tiger Rant. This type of shite drives them nuts when they can't accuse the OP of having some sort of agenda.

To answer your question, IMHO Saban would have won back to back titles in 06 and 07 before bolting to the NFL. Unlike the Miles version of those teams that lost two each year, Saban wouldn't have lost a game either season. Having had his fill of the NFL a little later this time, Saban would now be in only his third year at Bama, and working on his first national title for the Tide.

I think many people underestimate the lessons Saban learned during his tenure with the dolphins then back to Bama. He changed defenses from a 4-3 while at LSU to a 3-4 at Bama. I'm not sure that Saban's evolution from a great coach to an elite coach would've happened if he stayed in the same place. Plus, "the process" was wearing on a lot of players in 2004--not sure that he could've kept it up/kept the players buying into it for another 10 years.

in his fifth and final year at LSU, saban went 9-3, 1-3 vs ranked teams. which is weird since hes so amazing.

and this is weird too; he's had 4 straight number 1 recruiting classes, including 16 5 stars, so he has the most great players, yet the ole miss game ended 7 game stretch where he went 4-3.

so if he's the best coach, and he has the best players, how does he ever lose? it can only mean hes getting out-coached but according to you thats not possible? point shaving maybe?

0. If he had not taken the job at Miami in '04, Katrina still would have freaked up our schedule in '05 and he would have taken a job after the '05 season. Saban didn't realize that college football is where he belonged until after he got to the NFL.
